Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters and and will fall.

1. just depressed.
Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.
You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.
Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.
You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.
You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.
For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.
You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.
Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.
You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.
This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.
You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.
Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.
You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.
Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.
You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.
It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss
You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.
Combine some options or make your own!

 

 

fluff scenario

1. Sick day. You're down with the flu or some injury. Whatever the reason, you're bedridden or at the hospital. Aren't you lucky that that special someone came to visit you?

2. Date night. You've made special plans to show that special someone just how much you love them and nothing can go wrong tonight.

3. Cheer up. One or both of you is feeling down and it's time to get out of that slump by either finding a way to distract yourself or talking it out with the other person.

4. Love confession. Your stomach is doing flip flops and your heart is racing, but you've read all the signs right, and it's time to let that other person know you feel the same way.

5. Special gift. Maybe it's the first time, or maybe this is the gift that really counts. Birthday, Christmas, or just a random present, you've been planning and saving up for this one and are hoping that special person will like it.

6. Last time (for awhile). One of you is going away for some reason (it can be as simple or angsty as you want it to be) and you may be back or you may not, but you want to spend the time you've got left where you are with someone special.

7. Pillow talk. You've just had fantastic sex (which playing out is optional!) and you're both content to lay back and enjoy a little bit of pillow talk or maybe go for round two as soon as you catch your breath!

8. Shared dessert. Whether it's because you're both cheap or you're one of those cute, lovey-dovey couples who love sharing desserts, the two of you are sharing that delicious ice cream sundae or cake with one another. Did some of it get on your partner's nose? Or maybe you want to go ahead and take a bite out of the cookie sticking out of their mouth.

9. Need a friend. You just want to hang out with the guys/girls and have a little fun.

10. I'm sorry. You had a fight with someone and now it's time to kiss and make up. . . or at least make up.

11. A moment at home. There's nothing better than enjoying a peaceful day without anything to worry about. Maybe you'll share a book with a friend, or just enjoy some tea and catch up.

12. Been so long. You're back after a long trip somewhere and now it's time to meet up with someone you've missed a lot and make up for lost time!

13. I'll defend you until the end. You're going to fight for that person and you're going to let them know it or show them, whichever comes first.

14. Pillow fight. You're both feeling the need to have some friendly horseplaying, and what better way than with pillows?

15. Wild card. Reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else.

[That's the third time she's looked over her shoulder in the last ten minutes and it's getting ridiculous. There's nothing there! No one! In fact, everyone is out of the house tonight, and when she had waved them goodbye just a few hours ago, that had not been anything like the problem that she is definitely not having and has no need to pester anyone about.

... Maybe she will go sit by the fireplace and keep Poppop company.]

[Bro is standing at the entrance. Everything has gone to hell since they've started. The group is barely making it out alive in one piece. They're tired and short on supplies and they need to get to the next safe area within the day if they want to see the entire group as safe as they can be in a zombie apocalypse.

Even Bro's shades can't hide the storm brewing in his mind.

Bro has already weighed everything in his mind.] Hey Dirk. Need to talk to you for a second. It'll be quick since we don't really have time to not make it quick anyways.

[Bro doesn't let any emotion through. It's impossible to tell what he's even thinking.]

Angst 8

[It's finally happened.

He's always been too limited, too idiosyncratic, too small to survive something like this. He's never had AR's uncanny cognitive abilities or Sawtooth's unreal firepower; he doesn't even have Squarewave's clueless sturdiness under pressure. He is what he has always been: a gesture of sentimentality plated in metal and given a miniature sword to wave around.

He lies broken now, head dented and limb wires sparking and exposed, because even if zombies aren't interested in robots they've got no qualms about crushing anything that moves. One ear's been snapped clean off and his shades are cracked and dark.

Threadbare, care-worn plush is poking through the empty socket where his ear used to be.

He can't move, but he has enough power to open a new message window.]

[It was only a brief reunion with the New York group before an unprecedented--and terrifying--mass of zombies practically erupted from the basement of what they'd taken for a safehouse. Now scattered, the girl and the robot bunny now found them unfortunately cut off from everyone else.

Li'l Seb was built for this, though--literally, through and through--and in the little alcove they've found to catch their breath, he makes sure to stand between Rose and the half-hidden entrance, one arm out to warn her back, sword at the ready.]

[ It's a good day when the undead aren't about. The house is serving it's purpose well, one of the best places they ever could have come across and far enough away from cities and forests to give them ample distance. An electric fence around the perimeter, fields to be cultivated, it's paradise.

And it won't last.

Dirk takes what time he can to relax and tries to encourage the others to do the same. He drops into his seat newly designated seat and puts his feet up, setting his battered laptop on his lap. ]

Rose. [ A nod of greeting before he turns to work. ]

[It's a department store. The place is pretty much ransacked but there's still a lot of stuff just lying around in varying degrees of damaged, disordered, destroyed. They're there to get in and out, grab what they want, meet around the back. It's too opened and cluttered to defend or even keep decent lookout, and what are you going to do with two-hundred-plus bed linens with the collapse of civilization? Tomfoolery would be ill-advised.

A squiddle-themed cushion sails through the air in a perfect parabolic arc without even a 'heads up' to pave its way. Blame science, Rose. Science.]

[ It happened fast. One minute, you're leading the group. You're all that stands between them and certain destruction. The next, your careful control has slipped and everything has gone to hell. The undead had overrun your little facility and you were so busy making sure everyone got out alive, so busy ensuring that your family was safe, that you'd been forgotten in the mayhem.

It had taken you months to track them down again. By the time you staggered into the complex, you must have looked as terrible as all the rest of the undead. Bone-thin and probably half-mad, you watch from afar and realize just how little you mattered. They avoid you like the plague and maybe that's because they're afraid you'll spread it. You're different now. You did what you had to in order to survive, alone, without people to keep you grounded and soft.

Still... seeing how easily they forgot everything you've done for them, how easily they replaced you.

It hurts. ]

[ It's the end of the world and a piss poor time to be in love. Tavros is sixteen and walks with crutches, he's a troll that doesn't hate and can't kill, his biggest dream was to meet Peter Pan and the only game he's good at is Fiduspawn. Why someone like Dave would want to be his friend is a mystery, that he would ever reciprocate these feelings is impossible.

But it's the end of the world and he'd like to be brave, just this once. So that's why he's here, nervously scuffing one foot against the ground. ]

[Bro was always an unmoving wall. A man who never went down. He had worked hard to make sure no one saw him as week ever.

But it came with a price, and it was wearing him down to the bone if he were serious about his current mental health. He didn't want his brothers to see him as he is now, though. Like the god damn wreck he is, because he's trying so damn hard being the pillar everyone can rely on. So much, that he has forgotten that he's just as human as the rest of their ragtag group.

Even as he stands guard at some ridiculous hour of the night so the others can rest, he's putting them before himself.

But there's only so much one man can handle before all his walls crumble. Bro, has finally hit that moment.

[It was only a matter of time before exhaustion got the better of even the best of their group. Bro wasn't beneath wearing himself thin. He was barely eating and drinking, but putting out as much effort as possible that it wasn't a surprise when Bro had suddenly collapsed.

Despite being told to recover (Jesus shit, he didn't know he could start forest fires with his forehead until now), Bro was trying to get up to his feet again. Gotta make sure the team is safe, damn it.] Where's my sword?

[ Sleep didn't used to be such an awful thing. He pretended he could fly, he pretended he could soar over the clouds and save the world. Now, there are usually nightmares. The undead biting his horns, his friends shambling wrecks.

It's really bad.

He's reading by candlelight in the living room of the latest safehouse, thumbing through yellowed pages and squinting at the pictures of faeries and captain hook. ]

[ He hasn't been this sick since he was a little kid with too many allergies and not enough money for medication. Makes sense. There's no medication now, nothing to clear his lungs or quell his fever. Still, even with fevers and chills and being unable to keep even the smallest bit of food down, Dirk's working. Laptop on his stomach, furiously typing away even if he can't even lift his head off of the pillow.

He's worried that he might not recover.

He has to work, leave enough information for the others to pick up on and carry on with if he doesn't get better. ]

[ the group has been on the run from a huge wave of zombies for awhile now—they've mostly managed to get away, to set up barely-strong enough encampments to rest, only to wake up the next day on the verge of being overtaken. there have been casualties, a few people are starting to give up. too exhausted, too hopeless. dave in particular feels as though he's gone a little crazy from how many people have fallen already, and he's not very subtle at all about how he patrols when it's his turn—and even when it isn't, sometimes—that he's reaching the end of their rope.

someone has to do something, or they're never going to be able to get an edge. one by one they're going to get picked off and he is not about to let that happen. for awhile dave starts volunteering for every single night watch shift, climbing up high for a good vantage point and scheming all the while.

somebody has to do something.

it's on one of these nights, before everyone's gone to sleep, that dave approaches jade, carrying his sword at his side and seeming a little somber. ]

[ Out of everyone, the only person who'd never been properly gifted with a robot (not counting her brother, of course) was the other alien girl they knew. Calliope wasn't exactly easy to track down or send things to, she'd never been forthcoming with who or what she was, but since she's here she's as good as familiar. ]
